We've happily consumed more bottles from Lapierre over the years than just about any other producer in the region, and it would be nearly impossible to think of a setting in which we wouldn't want to drink these wines. Mathieu and his sister, Camille, have furthered the great work of their immensely influential father and have continued to elevate the status of the domaine worldwide. As always, the Lapierre Morgon is fermented whole cluster with native yeasts and aged on the lees for around 9 months in used Burgundy barrels.  We’re certain that strong-willed and patient collectors will be very well rewarded a few years down the road, though we're uncertain if we will be able to fall into that group as we can't seem to hold off ourselves! The wines are lithe and finesse driven and, for many, the reference point of Beaujolais, as a whole. On top of that, they tend to age very well, so there is lot of versatility in terms of intending to drink now or saving for later. Behind it all, though, is meticulous farming and winemaking which form the true foundation of this great estate.
