Monte Bianco was the name affectionately given to a rocky slope behind the family home at Abbatucci, thought to be impossible to tame with viticulture, until biodynamic farming was introduced. Hand harvested, foot trodden Sciaccarellu, fermented in stainless steel with native yeast, and aged in large foudres. This is a deeply complex wine with notes of both ripe and dried red fruits, dried herbs, smoked meat, and a long, persistent mineral finish. An elegant, structured example of what Sciaccarellu can become in the right hands, and how biodynamic farming can help terroir express itself in full transparency.
