Académie & Ostia Tempore x MWC: The New York Launch Tasting

September 30, 2026
Académie Tasting at Manhattan Wine Company, Wednesday September 30th

Meet winemaker Thomas Savre and Académie partner Joshua Wludyka, pouring in person. Be the first in New York City to taste these wines.

We are thrilled to invite you to Manhattan Wine Company for the exclusive New York launch of Académie and Ostia Tempore on Wednesday, September 30th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Winemaker Thomas Savre and Académie partner Joshua Wludyka will be here to pour the lineup and share the story behind these two exceptional projects.

Ostia Tempore: A Love Letter to Oregon

Bertrand de Villaine first came to Oregon as a student and immediately fell in love with the place. In 2016, he founded Ostia Tempore and asked Thomas Savre, then head winemaker at Lingua Franca, to make the wines.

There is natural family precedent for this. While co-directing Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Bertrand's uncle Aubert spent decades dedicated to his own estate in Bouzeron, farming Aligoté with the reverence others reserved only for grand cru sites. This was not as a side project, but a quest for terroir pursued on his own terms. Bertrand approaches Ostia Tempore in that same spirit. It isn't an ambition to reinvent a valley that already possesses a storied winemaking history; it is simply a winemaker planting roots in a place that has long felt like a second home.

Until now, these bottles went almost entirely to DRC collectors in Europe and Asia. The 2025 release marks their first official arrival in the United States, and this will be the first time a bottle has ever been poured in New York.

Académie: Thomas Savre's Next Chapter

Académie is Thomas Savre's own wine after Lingua Franca. Joined by partner Joshua Wludyka and supported by long-standing relationships with Dominique Lafon and the de Villaine family, Académie represents Thomas's personal, unfettered expression of the Willamette Valley.

The foundation rests on historic vineyard land formerly farmed by Beaux Frères, dry-farmed and organic for more than thirty years. Rather than attempting to recreate the Côte d'Or in Oregon, Thomas draws on his time at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Chevrot alongside his years at Evening Land and Lingua Franca, bringing both Burgundian and Oregon fluency to what this ground naturally yields: micro-production Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs built for tension, energy, and long, graceful aging.
