2013 Tarlant, Champagne, L'Enclume Brut Nature [disg. 2024]

Champagne Tarlant is farmed by the 12th consecutive generation of the family estate located in the Marne Valley. This still white wine comes from a small parcel within the Enclume lieu-dit planted in 1970 on flinty, sandy, and pebbly soils. The whole clusters underwent spontaneous fermentation in Burgundy barrels followed by 15 months of barrel aging, then were bottled by hand without fining or filtering. The 2020 growing season yielded a concentrated, structured wine defined by extended lees contact and deep mineral extract. This bottle is ready to enjoy tonight for those seeking a rare still expression from a historic Champagne house.
