2018 Domaine Paul Pillot, Chassagne-Montrachet, 1er Cru Cailleret

Domaine Paul Pillot is a fourth-generation family estate based in Chassagne-Montrachet that transitioned from barrel making to full-time viticulture at the turn of the 20th century. This wine is made from Chardonnay grown on the steep, rocky, and thin topsoil of the Les Caillerets vineyard, where the vines average 60 years in age. In the glass, it displays a focused profile of crisp Anjou pear, citrus zest and a chalky minerality accompanied by stand-up texture.
