Interestingly enough, Guillaume d'Angerville, who is originally from Volnay, began his Jura project after blind tasting one of Tissot's Chardonnay cuvées (2005 Bruyeres, to be exact). Since that pivotal moment, Guillaume has been diligently at work, developing Domaine du Pelican into the formidable estate that it is today. Surely his leanings are Burgundian, but he also works with parcels formerly owned by “the pope of Arbois”, Jacques Puffeney. Domaine du Pelican is also committed to biodynamics, so while there is a refinement to Guillaume’s wines that isn’t always present in other Jurassic bottlings, the terroir does indeed shine through.
