Marcel Lapierre needs no introduction. By far, the best known name in Beaujolais, which simply means the estate has been committed to quality for some time now. The wines are lithe and finesse driven and, for many, the reference point of Beaujolais, as a whole. On top of that, they tend to age very well, so there is lot of versatility in terms of intending to drink now or saving for later. Behind it all, though, is meticulous farming and winemaking which form the true foundation of this great estate. Their 'Morgon' bottling comes from 70 year old vines grown on sandy, decomposed granite.
