Maxime Ponson’s family has a long history in Champagne and he is now the 6th generation at the helm of this impressive property. His domaine is in the village of Coulommes-la-Montagne, one the numerous villages of the Petite Montagne, a group of small villages in the larger Montagne de Reims. The area is known to produce the very best Pinot Meunier in all of Champagne. Since Maxime took over the 1.2 hectares his father gave him, he set out to work organically. Now all of his holdings are in conversion for eco-certification. Loads of character and class, refreshing but not austere, with an impeccable balance of sweet fruit and cutting minerality.
