The Details:
Ameztoi
2025 Getariako Txakolina, Rubentis - 12+ btls @ $26.99/btl ($24.29 with case discount)
Ignacio Ameztoi represents the seventh generation of his family producing Txakolina in the seaside cliffs of Getaria. Rubentis is a field blend of the indigenous Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza varieties, grown on 100-plus-year-old vines. This 2025 release captures the quintessential Atlantic profile: a pale, shimmering pink with a naturally occurring CO2 spritz. Expect a profile of wild strawberry and lime zest, underscored by a saline, mineral-driven acidity that reflects the vineyards' direct exposure to the Bay of Biscay.
Luis Pato
2023 Vinha Formal Branco, Bieras - 12+ btls @ $32/btl ($28.80 with case discount)
Often referred to as the "Revolutionary of Bairrada," Luis Pato has spent decades championing the potential of Portuguese indigenous varieties. The Vinha Formal is a single-vineyard expression of Bical planted on chalky-clay soils. In the 2023 vintage, the wine continues its reputation as an "Atlantic Burgundy." Fermented and aged in French oak, it balances a dense, phenolic mid-palate with the high-toned acidity characteristic of the region. Notes of citrus peel, smoky minerals, and a waxy texture
