Saturday Tasting Series: January 24th, 2026

Join us Saturday from 2-5 pm!

This Saturday, we’re putting one of the wine world’s most underrated "underdog" grapes center stage: Cinsault.

Often relegated to a supporting role in blends or pinked into Rosé, Cinsault is finally getting its solo spotlight—and we have two of the world’s absolute best examples to prove why it deserves your attention. Join us as we taste through two "Old Vine" legends from two different continents.

The Lineup:

🍷 2021 Raymond Usseglio & Fils, ‘Le Péché Originel,’ VdF (Rhône, France)
Hailing from the sandy soils of Lirac, this is Cinsault in its purest, most "naked" form. "Le Péché Originel" (The Original Sin) comes from vines planted back in the early '60s. It’s biodynamic, organic, and made in concrete vats with zero added sulfites. Think of it as the Pinot Noir of the South. It’s silky and fragrant with notes of violets, licorice, and wild strawberries, backed by a cool, earthy elegance.

🍷 2024 Turley, Bechtold Vineyard Cinsault (Lodi, California)
You cannot talk about Cinsault without mentioning the Bechtold Vineyard. Planted in 1886, these are the oldest Cinsault vines in the world. Turley treats this fruit with the reverence it deserves: native yeasts, neutral oak, and a light touch. This is bright and crunchy. Packed with pomegranate, blood orange, and black tea notes. It’s a masterclass in how 139-year-old vines can produce a wine that feels incredibly youthful and vibrant.

Why you should come:
If you love Pinot Noir, Gamay, or lighter-bodied reds with serious soul, these wines are for you. We’ll be discussing how these gnarly old vines survive across the globe and why Cinsault is the "secret weapon" for winemakers in warming climates.
