2024 Turley, Bechtold Cinsault, Lodi

The 2024 Turley Bechtold Cinsault emerges from Lodi's historic Bechtold Vineyard, an ungrafted site planted in 1886 and renowned as one of the world's oldest Cinsault plantings.  These head-trained, dry-farmed vines flourish in the Mokelumne River sub-AVA's deep sandy loam soils, reflecting Turley Wine Cellars' philosophy of sustainable viticulture and native yeast fermentation.Lodi's 2024 growing season, characterized by a warmer summer and an earlier, concentrated harvest, fostered ripe fruit with enhanced flavors and overall quality for reds.  This warm vintage, coupled with aging in neutral French oak, yields a vibrant and distinctive red, beautifully balancing ripeness with the grape's inherent freshness and lively acidity.It stands as an authentic and elegant expression of a unique California terroir and an ancient variety.
