Welcome back to our Saturday Tasting Series! This week we will be yet again pouring some wines at the shop starting at around 2:30pm. Expect a laid back environment, with some interesting insights about both wines being shared by owner, and long tenured sommelier, Kerrie. We will have wine open until around 6pm, so come have a glass, chat with us, and maybe even walk out with new friends and a bottle of something for yourself!
This week we are going to be pouring two wines from Cims de Porrera, an exciting producer in Priorat, Spain.
2021 Cims de Porrera - Priorat Blanco Vi de Vila @ $38.99/bottle ($35.09 with case discount)
Cims de Porrera’s Vi de Vila Blanco is a white wine from the Priorat region in Catalonia, Spain. Produced by Cims de Porrera, this wine showcases the unique terroir of Porrera village, part of the "Vi de Vila" classification. The winery is known for its commitment to preserving old-vine varieties and supporting local growers. The wine is crafted from a blend of Macabeo, Garnacha Blanca, Picapoll Blanc, and Pedro Ximénez grapes, highlighting the region's distinctive slate soils. Come taste the essence of Priorat Blanco and a true benchmark wine for the region!
2018 Cims de Porrera - Priorat Vi de Vila @ $37/bottle ($33.30 with case discount)
We will also be pouring Cims de Porrera’s Vi de Vila Rouge. A blend of Garnacha and Carignan from similarly old vines to the white, this is a powerful wine that showcases the terroir of the region and microclimate as much if not more than their white. Both bottles are fantastic examples of what Pirorats can and should be when done right!
