Now that we’re firmly in the thick sticky of summer’s dense humidity and we’re drinking the pale and pink-hued porch pounders and stoop slammers, it seemed time to call attention to a few of our amazing spirits that really should be on your backbar. Well, and in your cup, but you see what we’re getting at. Below are our favorite everyday spirits that we have on the shelves right now. And yes, there is a Tequila AND a Mezcal because they’re both amazing and what we were actually drinking this week.
Our refrigerated truck will be making same day deliveries in Manhattan for orders placed before 3PM tomorrow (Saturday 7/18). Delivery is free for orders $200+ in Manhattan, and free with no minimum in West Chelsea / Hudson Yards.
Cheers,

Gin de Mahón is one of Europe's geographically protected gins (Plymouth has famously declined to continue using that designation and decided to keep all its processes secret) and is truly a singular and fantastic spirit. The base distillate is made from grapes and only includes a single botanical: juniper berries. Texturally, it has a slightly richer mouthfeel than a London Dry, but not quite as glycerin-y as an Old Tom. It makes a gin and tonic that has such a flavorful purity and is devoid of that furniture cleaner flavor that many London Dry gins have. One of our favorite gins of all time.
Privateer - New England White Rum (1L)
$34.99 | 24+ Available
Crisp and clean white rum that forgoes the funk and grass for a bright, Daquiri-able flavor profile. This stuff is made in Massachusetts from 100% single origin molasses and is criminally underpriced for the quality. Made for all your rum cocktail needs and priced so that you can spend a little extra and squeeze fresh limes. Elegant and dry, like Audrey Hepburn under a huge umbrella.
Cimarron - Tequila Blanco (1L)
$29.99 | 22 Available
We’re really in an amazing time to drink Tequila (or any agave-based spirits really) as the breadth of amazing options has really bloomed. Gone are the days where anything reasonably priced on the shelf was bound to be some caramel colored mixto that was a blend of sub-par Tequila and other neutral spirits. Cimarron is all estate grown blue weber agave and the liquid he culls from these piñas is perfect for both sipping and mixing. This has a classic vegetal profile with notes of sweet agave and a lean dry finish. It is our (and several close friends) standard house Tequila because it is almost impossible to beat at this price.

This incredible and accessible Mezcal is perfect for dipping your toe into the often smokey waters of Mezcal if you usually swim in the Tequila side of the pool. Made from the ever popular Mezcal workhorse agave Espadín- this is great for mixing since it is not so intensely phenolic, and thus won’t overpower your other ingredients. Bits of charred earth, spice, roasted peppers, and baked fruit all swim around in this bottle. Start by making yourself a split base Margarita (50 / 50 with Tequila) and see how that does you. We promise you will be over on the dark side before too long.
Forthave Spirits – Aperitivo, Red (750ml)
$36.99 | 16 Available
The fine folks at Forthave in Brooklyn concoct lovely color-coded libations that showcase a well-informed nod to the traditions and histories of European herb-infused spirits and liqueurs. This is their delightful take on the red Aperitivo style of Amaro, and shows hints of subtle rose hip, citrus zest, and chamomile with a lovely textured mouthfeel and well-structured bitter backbone. Perfect in all your spritzy variations and Negroni riffs, this is what you want artisanal Aperitivo to taste like.
