This whisky is made from malted barley heavily peated to between 50 and 55 phenol parts per million, then matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin French Limousin oak casks. While there is no specific 1000 vintage, the modern expression relies on high-proof bottling at 57.1% ABV to maintain its intense, savory character.
