The Miyagikyo Distillery, established by Masataka Taketsuru in 1969, sits nestled in the verdant mountains of Sendai where two clear rivers meet. This site was selected specifically for its high-quality water and cool, humid climate, which allow the whisky to mature with exceptional grace. Made from malted barley, the spirit is distilled using steam-heated pot stills at low temperatures to produce a texture that is notably supple and refined.
