2012 Harmand-Geoffroy, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, Champeaux - Magnum

Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy champions traditional viticulture with practices like hand harvesting, debudding, and *vendange verte* to ensure vineyard health and pure fruit expression, complemented by a 100% destemmed fermentation to foreground terroir. The Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 'Champeaux' site is defined by its high-elevation, cool, eastern/southeastern exposed slopes and shallow, rocky fossiliferous crinoidal limestone soils. The 2012 vintage, despite early season challenges of frost and uneven flowering, saw a favorable late summer that produced small, concentrated berries with thick skins. This resulted in a wine structured for longevity, marked by ripe, fine-grained tannins and a firm acid backbone, further refined by careful aging on fine lees in small oak.
