Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is a storied estate in the southeastern reaches of Montalcino, located near the village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate and famously inherited by the farm manager Giuseppe Bianchini in 1985. The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grown in the Pianrosso vineyard, a site defined by iron-rich, medium-grain soils with layers of Eocene-era marl. In the glass, it shows an intense bouquet of ripe red berries and spice, with a warm, harmonic palate structured by firm yet supple tannins. The 2015 growing season provided consistent heat and sunshine, resulting in a wine of notable fruit density and balance.
