2015 Domaine Georges Roumier, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Les Cras

Domaine Georges Roumier’s exacting, terroir-driven viticulture, managed without chemical inputs and focusing on old vines, underpins the structural integrity of his Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Cras. Situated on a gentle, east-southeast facing slope, the vineyard’s shallow, active limestone soils over Bajocian marls, rich in *Ostrea Acuminta* fossils, inherently contribute a distinct mineral framework. For the 2015 vintage, a warm, dry summer, mitigated by critical August rainfall, ensured optimal physiological ripeness and concentrated small berries with notably thick skins. This resulted in a Pinot Noir expressing a serious, weighty mid-palate density and an abundance of ripe, fine-grained tannins. The excellent acid retention, despite the warm growing season, further lends tension and vibrancy, promising exceptional longevity.
