2015 Opus One, Napa Valley - Magnum

The 2015 Napa Valley growing season featured an early bud break and bloom followed by cooler May temperatures that led to uneven fruit set and notably lower yields. Despite persistent drought, a relatively mild summer with few heat spikes allowed for gradual, even physiological ripening, achieving phenolic maturity at moderate sugar levels. This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend (81% Cabernet Sauvignon), aged 18 months in new French oak, presents a wine of concentrated depth, exceptional color, and a structural profile defined by fine-grained, opulent tannins balanced by fresh acidity, promising significant cellar evolution. The resulting wine offers remarkable balance and elegance, characteristic of a vintage celebrated for producing wines with longevity.
