2016 Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino, Barolo, Mosconi Vigna Ped

Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino was established in 1982 in the village of Monforte d’Alba, where the Conterno and Fantino families manage their vineyards using certified organic farming practices. This wine is made from Nebbiolo vines planted in 1960 within the Mosconi cru, a site known for its unique clay, sand, and silt soil composition at an altitude of approximately 400 meters. In the glass, it shows focused aromas of crushed cherry, rose petals, and earth with a firm, structural presence and fine-grained tannins. The 2016 vintage provided a long, cool, and steady growing season, which allowed the grapes to achieve full ripeness while maintaining vibrant acidity and exceptional balance. Given its formidable structure and the classic nature of the year, this wine is built for the cellar and will continue to evolve beautifully for years to come.
