The Château de Puligny-Montrachet, now part of the de Montille family heritage, has been managed since 2002 by Etienne de Montille, who implemented organic and biodynamic farming practices across the estate's holdings. This wine is made from Chardonnay grown in a five-hectare parcel situated directly in front of the château, a site that was historically an orchard and was consequently excluded from the surrounding village appellation boundaries. In the glass, the wine offers clean, bright notes of lemon zest and white peach, with a medium-bodied texture and a distinct mineral presence. The 2016 vintage, while challenging for the region due to early frost, ultimately yielded high-quality fruit that brings a balanced acidity and transparency to this bottling. This is an accessible, well-structured white Burgundy that is ready to enjoy tonight, representing an excellent opportunity to experience the terroir of Puligny-Montrachet.
