Fontodi is a family-run estate located in the Conca d'Oro, a natural amphitheater in Panzano, Chianti, where the Manetti family has overseen production since 1968. This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese sourced from the estate's high-altitude, organically farmed vineyards that feature significant diurnal temperature shifts. In the glass, it reveals deep aromas of dark cherry, tilled earth, and violet, supported by a structured, firm texture and taut, fine-grained tannins. The 2016 vintage, characterized by a cool spring that reduced yields, provided the fruit with exceptional concentration and balanced, kinetic acidity. This is a wine built for the cellar, offering both the power and poise necessary for long-term aging.
