Paolo Scavino is a long-standing family estate in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1921 and now led by the fourth generation of the Scavino family. Made from Nebbiolo, this wine is sourced from the historical Fiasco cru, a site characterized by calcareous marl soils and vines first planted in the 1970s. In the glass, it displays notes of dark cherry, licorice, and ferrous earth, framed by a firm, structured mouthfeel. The 2016 vintage provided a long, stable growing season that allowed the grapes to develop deep flavor concentration while maintaining vibrant acidity. This is a well-balanced bottle that remains approachable now but possesses the structural integrity to evolve further in the cellar.
