Benoit Courault established his estate in Faye d'Anjou, Loire, in 2006, transitioning from a background in horse breeding to a focused, biodynamic approach that utilizes animal labor for vineyard maintenance. This wine is made from Chenin Blanc vines averaging 50 years of age, which are rooted in shallow, clay and schist soils. In the glass, it presents precise notes of pear, beeswax, and flint, carrying a structured texture defined by its long aging on the lees. The 2017 vintage provided a balanced growing season that allowed these grapes to retain significant tension and acidity. This is a characterful, stable wine that is ready to enjoy now but possesses the architecture to evolve further in the cellar.
