2017 Boscarelli, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

Poderi Boscarelli is a family-run estate located in the Cervognano area of Montepulciano, where three generations of the De Ferrari family have managed the property since 1962. Their vineyards are planted in alluvial, sandy-calcareous soils at approximately 300 meters in elevation, and this wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese with native Colorino, Canaiolo, and Mammolo. In the glass, it shows notes of black cherry, plum, and earth, backed by a structure of firm, dusty tannins and refreshing acidity. The 2017 vintage was characterized by a hot, dry summer that resulted in concentrated, ripe fruit and a robust profile. This bottling is currently drinking well and offers a balanced expression of its historic terroir, making it a reliable choice to open now or hold for several years.
