Blankiet Estate, nestled in the Paradise Hills Vineyard on the western foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains above Yountville, employs organic farming practices and meticulous vineyard management to capitalize on its diverse volcanic and alluvial soils and beneficial eastern exposures. The 2018 growing season, marked by mild spring and summer conditions and a temperate autumn, facilitated a prolonged, even ripening, enabling optimal physiological development and acid retention in the Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend. This allowed for harvesting at ideal sugar levels with fully lignified seeds, leading to a wine with remarkable freshness and structural integrity. Aged for two years in 100% new French oak and bottled without fining or filtration, the resulting Magnum presents a precise architectural framework of fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity, and considerable mid-palate density. This vintage is characterized by its harmony and refinement, promising significant cellaring potential.
