Bond's philosophy centers on translating specific Napa Valley "Grand Cru" sites into single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon expressions, meticulously farmed, often organically, by dedicated vineyard teams under Mary Maher's direction. The Vecina vineyard, an 11-acre parcel in Oakville's western foothills, showcases beautifully terraced volcanic soils with an eastern exposure, capturing cool morning sun. The 2018 Napa Valley growing season was notably cool and protracted, marked by even temperatures and a lack of significant heat spikes, leading to extended hang time and balanced physiological ripeness. This resulted in a Cabernet Sauvignon defined by a focused intensity, where the wine's inherent acidity and muscular structure are refined by an extremely fine texture and a persistent, resonant finish.
