2018 Chateau Grand Village, Bordeaux Superieur - Magnum

Château Grand Village, the ancestral Right Bank estate of the Guinaudeau family of Château Lafleur, is farmed with the same uncompromising, terroir-first philosophy that defines its more famous sibling. Located in Mouillac, the property sits on elevated clay-limestone soils over Asteria limestone bedrock, a combination that offers both drainage and measured water retention. In 2018—a vintage marked by a challenging, rain-soaked spring and a hot, dry summer—these soils proved essential, supporting even ripening and allowing for extended hang-time to refine the naturally thick-skinned Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The resulting Bordeaux Supérieur is impressively composed: ripe yet finely etched, structured yet fresh, and unmistakably shaped by the harmony between site and season.
