Daniel Bouland is a reclusive vigneron based in the hamlet of Corcelette, where he personally tends to his vines and adheres to traditional, low-intervention farming practices on his small seven-hectare estate. This wine is made from Gamay grapes sourced from vines aged between 65 and 75 years, which are planted in the signature sandy and granitic soils of the Corcelette climat. In the glass, it shows a firm, soil-driven core with distinct notes of black cherry, wild berries, and woodsmoke, balanced by a structured, mineral-rich texture. The warm, dry 2018 growing season provided the grapes with excellent ripeness, resulting in a full-bodied character with ripe, firm tannins. This wine offers significant depth and potential for further bottle maturation, making it an excellent candidate for the cellar.
