Daniel Bouland is a dedicated grower based in the hamlet of Corcelette who has earned a reputation for producing traditional, high-quality wines within the Morgon appellation. This wine is made from Gamay vines planted in 1926, which grow in the silty-clay loam—or "sable"—and granite soils characteristic of the Delys lieu-dit. In the glass, it displays a deep, sapid core of black cherries and plum, complemented by notes of woodsmoke and a distinct mineral signature, all held together by firm, ripe tannins. The warm 2018 vintage provided ideal conditions for the old vines, resulting in a wine with notable concentration, depth, and structural integrity. This is a well-balanced bottle that is rewarding now but has the architecture to evolve and deepen in the cellar over the coming years.
