2018 Domaine Paul Pillot, Chassagne-Montrachet, Rouge Vieilles Vignes

Domaine Paul Pillot is a benchmark estate in Chassagne-Montrachet, now managed by the fourth generation of the family, Thierry and Chrystelle Pillot. This wine is made from 50-year-old vines rooted in clay and reddish limestone soils located directly below the Les Morgeots premier cru site. In the glass, it displays notes of red cherry, raspberry, and subtle spice, supported by a medium-bodied, structured, and mineral-driven texture. The 2018 vintage provided ample ripeness, which balances the wine's inherent tension and saline finish.
