His revered Reynard bottling originates from steep, south-facing slopes composed of decomposed granite locally known as "gore," which imparts a singular mineral tension to the wine. The 2018 vintage in the Northern Rhône presented a warm growing season following a wet spring, resulting in optimally ripe fruit and often rich, flavorful profiles. While heat led to rapid sugar accumulation, mid-August rains helped prevent blockages in maturity, fostering physiological ripeness.
