2019 Colombera & Garella, Lessona, Pizzaguerra

Alto Piemonte is a diverse and special region where talented hands and motivated young producers have begun to unlock the potential of some fascinating and historic terroir. The Colombera & Garella wines are impressive in their own right but are especially attractive given the extreme quality that they display at modest prices. Their Lessona shows distinction, highlighting the airy minerality of Nebbiolo with grace and lift rather than overt power. The soil here is dominated by red marine sand that allows the elegance of Nebbiolo to shine through. Pizzaguerra is a special subsection of their Lessona vineyard they decided to bottle separately.
