A historic family estate in the Marne Valley dating back to the 17th century, now led by siblings Mathieu and Blandine. They manage a diverse array of parcels across 11 villages, farming in accordance with organic and/or biodynamic principles. In 2010, Mathieu returned
after studying viticulture in Avize, and his sister in 2020. Today, the duo manages 84 plots with vines up to 60 years old. C.D.B. is a focused and elegant 100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru terroir in Oger (lieu dit Vozemieux – same vineyard that Robert Moncuit farms and bottles on its own) and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (lieux dit Montjoly – same vineyard that Pierre Peters bottles famously on its own). This vintage bottling is creamy yet linear, showing aromas of sliced apples, white peach, and wild honey with a long, flavorful finish. Fun fact, Aurelien Suenen started making his wine in their cellar before his winery was completed. You’ll notice his labels look a lot like CDB! These are special wines. I’m sure they’ll be hot in the market soon enough.
