2019 Ferrando, Etichetta Bianca, Carema

Carema sits at the northern edge of Piedmont, where Nebbiolo climbs steep terraces at the base of the Alps. The vineyards are trained on traditional pergolas supported by stone pillars—structures designed to capture sunlight while protecting the vines from the cool mountain climate.

Ferrando has long been the reference estate here, preserving these historic sites while keeping production small. Etichetta Bianca is the domaine’s classic bottling, drawn from several hillside parcels planted on sandy, glacial soils scattered with granite.

The 2019 vintage produced beautifully balanced Nebbiolo in Alto Piemonte. In Carema the style leans toward red cherry, alpine herbs, and dried rose, with the firm structure and mountain freshness that define this tiny appellation.
