High up in the rugged Lamole sub-region, the Grassi family crafts this Riserva from organic vines perched at a breathtaking 550 meters. These sandstone soils and high-altitude breezes give the Sangiovese a sense of "crystalline" purity that you won't find in the heavier wines of the valley floor. By using large French oak tonneaux rather than small barrels, the family ensures the wood never masks the wine’s natural perfume, allowing the high-mountain herbs and bright red fruits to take center stage.

The 2019 vintage was a "dream season" for this site, with cool nights that preserved a vibrant, mouthwatering energy. On the palate, the wine is focused and athletic, balanced by fine-grained tannins that give it a sophisticated, assertive structure.
