2020 Benoit Courault, Gibourg Blanc VdF

Benoit Courault established his estate in 2006 in Faye d’Anjou, a village in the Loire Valley where he applies organic farming methods and animal traction to maintain the health of his vineyards. This wine is made from 40-year-old Chenin Blanc vines grown in clay and schist soils, reflecting the distinct terroir of the region. In the glass, it shows notes of ripe orchard fruit, herbs, and a flinty minerality, with a texture that balances density and focused acidity. The 2020 vintage provided the concentration and tension necessary to create a wine of this depth and character. It is currently ready to enjoy, offering a clear expression of its origin that will continue to reward patience in the cellar.
