2020 Joseph Drouhin, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

Joseph Drouhin's Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a direct expression of their long-standing commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, rigorously applied across their parcels on the Chambolle-Musigny side of this renowned Côte de Nuits appellation. The vineyard's diverse terroir, characterized by a complex matrix of clay-rich and limestone soils interwoven with red marl, benefits from an east-southeast exposure, fostering deep-rooted Pinot Noir vines. For the 2020 vintage, a warm and dry growing season with careful canopy management yielded concentrated fruit, resulting in a wine of notable structural density and a deep, saturated color. Despite the inherent ripeness, the season preserved remarkable natural acidity and achieved ripe, fine-grained tannins, offering a compelling balance, energy, and precision on the palate.
