Domaine Lamy-Pillot is the estate to watch in Chassagne right now. Formed by the union of two historic families, the estate is now guided by Florence and Sébastien Caillat of cult classic, Lamy-Caillat. And yes, the wines are being made in nearly exactly the same fashion. They aren't chasing trends; they are making honest, soul-stirring wines that reward the insider who knows where to look. Clos Saint-Jean is arguably the most famous red wine vineyard in Chassagne. In the 19th century, it was regarded as the village's "Grand Cru" for red wine.
