2020 Praesidium, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva

Praesidium is a family-run estate located in the hilltop village of Prezza, where the Pasquale family has farmed their vineyards according to organic principles since officially launching the winery in 1988. This wine is made from grapes grown in the clay-rich soils of the Peligna Valley, where the vines average 25 years of age and sit at 400 meters elevation. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby color with savory notes of blackberry, leather, and dried herbs supported by a firm, structured texture. The 2020 vintage provided a balanced growing season, allowing for a concentrated profile that emphasizes the wine’s natural depth.
