2020 Luis Rodriguez, Vina de Martin, Ribeiro, Escolma Blanco

Luis Rodriguez is one of the most dogged winemakers in Galicia, striving to save the region’s local grape varieties from extinction while showcasing their immense potential. He is based in Arnoia, within the Ribeiro appellation, and since 1988 he has accumulated 6 hectares of vineyards planted to local grape varieties like Treixadura, Caiño, and Ferrol (in place of the more ubiquitous Palomino and Garnacha Tintorera).  Through careful farming, native fermentations, and patient elevage, Luis crafts some of the most captivating wines in all of Spain. This is mostly mostly Treixadura. Textured while still maintaining beautiful tension over crystalline acidity.
