For generations, the Brovia family has been incredibly strategic about their holdings, securing some of the most prestigious sites in their home village of Castiglione Falletto and neighboring Serralunga d'Alba. By amassing parcels in Crus—Rocche, Villero, and Garblèt Sue in Castiglione, plus Brea in Serralunga—they work with a fascinating spectrum of geology, from dense, heavy clays to friable limestone.
They are conscientious farmers, practicing organic viticulture without making it the focal point. They even go so far as performing soil analyses every two years, ensuring the land remains in perfect equilibrium. The result is a set of wines that are as technically precise as they are soulful.
The Villero, planted in 1961, is one of Barolo’s great historic crus, and Brovia is unquestionably one of its true masters. This is the cru bottling we reach for when we want profundity: depth, polish, and the quiet, confident power that only Villero can give. A joy to drink now but will flourish years down the road.
