Cantina del Pino has long been one of the quiet benchmarks of traditional Barbaresco, farming prime holdings in Ovello with an approach rooted in thoughtful, steady vineyard work and classic, non-intrusive winemaking. Ovello is one of the highest and coolest crus in Barbaresco, defined by its firm calcareous marl, long exposures, and constant winds that help extend the growing season. In 2021—an excellent, balanced year in the region—the site’s elevation and slow ripening were especially advantageous, giving Nebbiolo its hallmark structure and clarity. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in large Slavonian casks, this bottling reflects the estate’s commitment to transparency and the character of the cru. It remains one of the most faithful and long-lived expressions of Ovello.
