2021 Clos Fantine, Faugeres, Cuvee Tradition

Clos Fantine’s 2021 Cuvée Tradition reflects the Andrieu siblings’ long-standing dedication to organic, biodynamic, and fully non-interventionist viticulture. Their dry-farmed bush vines, anchored in the schist-rich soils of Faugères and planted on south-facing terraces, capture the appellation’s rugged Mediterranean identity.

The 2021 growing season in the Languedoc was unusually long and cool, extending ripening and preserving exceptional acidity—an advantage that brings lift and definition to this traditionally framed blend. This is a blend of Carginan, Syrah & Grenache, fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged solely in concrete. The wine shows supple tannins, bursting with red and purple fruits with a hint of spice and a wild side—an unadorned expression of fruit and place.
