Founded by twin sisters Margherita and Francesca Padovani in 1997, the Fonterenza estate is a biodynamically farmed property located in the commune of Montalcino, where the family has maintained their farmhouse since the 1970s. This specific bottling is made from Sangiovese grown in a half-hectare plot of bush-trained vines planted in 2005, which thrive in crumbly, schistous galestro soils. The wine delivers clear notes of crushed cherry, strawberry, and cedary spice, supported by a cool-toned, sleek structure and fine-grained tannins. The 2021 vintage provided a balanced growing season, helping to concentrate flavors and produce the wine's characteristic nervy energy and refreshing acidity.
