2021 Guimaro, Ribeira Sacra, San Pedro

Ribeira Sacra is a wine region in northwestern Spain in Galicia. It's a dramatic region with deep river canyons and steep, terraced vineyards carved into the hillsides - a little bit like what you'd see around the Moselle river in the Mosel region of Germany.  Ribeira Sacra is primarily known for its reds and particularly the Mencia grape. Guímaro's Finca San Pedro is from an old single vineyard (60+ yrs old) made using partial whole cluster fermentations and uber traditional methods. Sees no new wood and drinks so pure and easy right out of the gates.
