2021 I Custodi, Etna Bianco, Ante

I Custodi delle Vigne dell’Etna operates on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, led by Mario and Manuela Paoluzi in collaboration with the historic I Vigneri association to preserve the volcano's ancient viticultural traditions. The grapes for this wine are made from a blend of Carricante, Grecanico, Catarratto, and Minnella, grown in sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soils at approximately 650 meters elevation. On the palate, the wine reveals precise aromas of citrus and ripe stone fruit, supported by a textured, saline minerality that is characteristic of the site. The 2021 vintage provided a balanced growing season, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly and retain the vibrant acidity needed for structural integrity. This is a bright and focused expression of Etna that is ready to enjoy tonight, offering immediate drinkability and a transparent reflection of its volcanic origins.
