2021 J. G. Benda, Brunello di Montalcino

Founded in 2019 by John Benda and his partner Zoe, the J.G. Benda estate champions terroir-driven Sangiovese from two secluded, high-altitude parcels in the woods of Montalcino. Rooted in rocky galestro and limestone soils over 500 meters above sea level, the vines yield an incredibly elegant, precise wine.

The 2021 vintage beautifully captures the estate’s signature style. Warm, dry conditions brought the grapes to perfect ripeness, while the high elevation retained a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity. In the glass, it delivers bright red cherry, fresh herbs, and focused mineral tension, all supported by polished, silky tannins. Built to age gracefully in the cellar, it is a masterfully balanced expression of the appellation.
