This is La Staffa's flagship wine, a top-tier expression of 100% Verdicchio made by rising star winemaker Riccardo Baldi. The wine is certified organic and comes from a selection of ancient vines, making it the finest bottling from this estate. The Verdicchio grapes from a single, high-elevation vineyard (450m) called Rincrocca in Le Marche, Italy, planted in 1972 on mineral-rich, clay and limestone soils. This Verdicchio has the complexity and age-worthiness of Chablis. It is structured and intense, benefiting from extended aging. Expect a remarkable balance of high acidity and creamy texture, with piercing notes of lime zest, green apple, crushed chalk, bitter almond, white pepper, and a profound, salty minerality. It is built to evolve beautifully in the bottle for years.
