2021 Gianluigi Lano, Barbaresco, Rocche Massalupo

Gianluigi Lano farms his Barbaresco vineyards with a clear focus on regenerative organic methods, keeping the soils alive and the ecosystem balanced. His Rocche Massalupo comes from Nebbiolo planted on calcareous marl with a southwest exposure around 200 meters, fermented with native yeasts and aged in large, neutral casks. The 2021 growing season brought healthy water reserves from winter and a steady, moderate summer, with wide day–night temperature swings that allowed for slow, even ripening. The result is a Barbaresco with firm structure, energetic acidity, and the depth to develop gracefully over time.
